The lead lifeguard is responsible for effectively managing the pool and supervising the other lifeguards.

Effective Date:

May 20, 2017 through End of September (Seasonal)


$12.00/hour (Additional for instructing swim lessons)

Duties Include:

  • Lifeguarding during the week, and at least 1 day out of Fri/Sat/Sun
  • Organizing staff schedule
  • Training lifeguards on opening and closing pool duties
  • Conducting monthly staff in-services to ensure lifeguards are fully competent in first aid, CPR and water rescues
  • Pool maintenance such as regulating water levels, chemical balances, and cleaning filters as needed
  • Ensuring that lifeguards are performing in accordance with established safet regulations and pool policies
  • Inventories and recognizing when supplies or equipment needs to be ordered and communicating needs to General Manager
  • Interfacing and communicating with patrons regarding concerns, issues or others input

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years lifeguard experience, previous lifeguard supervisory experience perferred
  • Must possess current American Red Cross or Starguard Lifeguard Training Certification

Perferred Qualifications:

  • Posses Water Safety Instructor certification with experience instructing swim lessons

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of lifesaving techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other lifeguards, country club members and staff
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexbility and willingness to respond to urgent needs at pool (manager is resposible for all pool functions)
